Recently, there are people who have been consistently commenting on lyrics, trying to add corrections and telling the editors and authors that, “This person sings this,” and “That person sings that” when indeed, it’s not like that at all, only to make the color coded lyrics even MORE inaccurate. Because of past mistakes that we kept making last year, we’re very strict on double checking our work and making sure that it’s color coded correctly before posting it (we try our best, for the most part). If we know something may not be correct, there will usually be a note at the bottom of the post asking for suggested corrections. Otherwise, there isn’t really a problem. Even if there isn’t a note, we appreciate corrections from people who are absolutely sure that something needs to be changed because they know that group/singer a lot better than we do.
To get to the point, this annoying correcting comments rampage became very obvious in the post for EXO-K’s MAMA, and a few U-KISS songs. As the person who posted the lyrics to MAMA, I was not familiar with all of the EXO members at that time, so I thank those Exotics (EXO fans) who kindly told us where corrections needed to be made. However, even after all corrections were made, people were still telling us that it was wrong (when in fact, it’s not), and it just got to the point where it was getting out of control.
Another thing I noticed is that people will try to correct us because the way the lines are distributed in live performances or music video of a song may be different than the studio recorded version. This happens a lot with groups with a lot of members (T-ara seems to do this a lot with their songs, especially Cry Cry). Unless otherwise stated, all of the songs color coded on here are of the studio recorded version from the CD/digital single. The music video is not always right, as it IS a music video, and everyone is lip syncing anyway, sometimes lip syncing parts that aren’t even their own voice. Some songs (such as U-KISS’s DORADORA) have the lines labeled so you know which member is singing which part, even if it doesn’t seem like that in the performances or music video. As I previously stated, corrections are welcome if something actually needs to be corrected. Otherwise, it becomes a tedious inconvenience (and in my opinion, quite annoying) to constantly change something that doesn’t need to be changed. To those of you who have given helpful and legit corrections, we thank you for helping us make our color coding work as accurate as possible.
Finally… adlibs. An adlib is an improvisation of speech, and are not actual words. They are usually only put into the background of a song to show off a singer’s vocal range and ability, which is why they are rarely ever written. If it’s not in the Korean lyrics, please don’t expect us to put it in there.
Just as we double check our work, please double check yours before telling the editors and authors to correct something. We would very much appreciate it. Thank you.
